Worlds of Faith
The Worlds of Faith CD-ROM is divided into sections for younger and older children. The World Religions section provides basic information on Buddhism, Christianity, Hinduism, Islam, Judaism and Sikhism in audio, text, photos, videos, activities and printable resources.
The Questions of Faith section is more advanced exploring religious ideas in greater detail and how individuals of different faiths approach personal, moral and ethical issues. Interactive sections require pupils to approach contemporary social problems via a variety of religious viewpoints and to debate their respective solutions.
The Blue Dragon Storybook
The interactive storybook can be shown on an
interactive whiteboard, as a class or group reader, or on individual
computers. The animated storybook format has advantages over a traditional big book, as it
allows the whole class to see the text very clearly, read together and
locate specific pages.
The CD-ROM has further interactive features, including the ability to edit text, move items and objects and engage in a range of activities including drag-and-drop, tick boxes and click and paste.
Modern Foreign Languages
Chez Mimi, La Tienda de Luis and Hennings Haus are a series of entertaining language learning CD-ROMs for ages 7–12, featuring video clips from 4Learning’s popular Chez Mimi television series.
Each disc contains video clips, interactive activities, each with two progressive levels of difficulty - a glossary with audio facility, along with printable achievement certificates and resources.
Maths Mansion
The Maths Mansion CD-ROMs are based on the popular 4Learning television series of the same name, in which children are trapped in a Gothic mansion by their cheerfully alarming host Bad Man until they successfully meet a range of maths challenges.
The challenges are fun maths games all about solving problems. Each game features an explanatory video clip from the TV series; two levels of play to provide practice and progression. The children earn Maths Mansion Awards when they successfully complete a game. Progress Reports are kept for each game. This records the number of times the children have played a game, their Maths Mansion Awards obtained and the level they have reached.
